IDNtribune.com – Get ready for an exhilarating spectacle this July as SkyLancing in Central Lombok, West Praya, Nusa Tenggara Barat Province, hosts not one but two prestigious world paragliding championships.

Imagine the skies filled with fifty paragliders soaring above a stunning landscape of white sandy beaches, coral islands, and towering hills. Witnessing this breathtaking scene from a sprawling hilltop, especially during sunrise or sunset, is a travel experience like no other. Adding to the excitement is the full moon flight, where paragliders take to the skies under the bright full moon.

From July 6-9, 2024, SkyLancing will be the stage for the Asian League Paragliding Accuracy 2024. Top paragliding pilots will showcase their precision landing skills in this thrilling competition.

Following closely is the Paragliding Accuracy World Cup (PGAWC) Series 4, taking place from July 11-14, 2024. This event marks the fourth of five series in 2024. The journey began in Thailand, moved to PGAWC Alanya in Turkey for the second series, and continued to Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan, for the third series on June 13, 2024.

“The final and fifth series will be held in Germany,” stated Asgaf Umar, Chairman of the Indonesian Paragliding Association, in a recent announcement in Lombok.

Since 2023, Nusa Tenggara Barat Province has had the honor of hosting the PGAWC, attracting top talents from around the globe. With only 80 spots available, participants are selected based on their world rankings.

Asgaf Umar emphasized that both events will be held at SkyLancing, a site perfectly equipped with world-class facilities, making it an ideal venue for such high-caliber competitions.

For those with vacation days to spare, the paragliding events at SkyLancing are not to be missed. The skies of Lombok are calling. ***
