The event, held at SkyLancing in Mekarsari Village, Praya Barat District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has drawn significant attention.

As of the third-round rankings recorded on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 17:21 WIB, two Indonesian athletes have secured spots in the top five of the overall category. Rizky Maulana from Indonesia leads in first place, followed by Thailand’s Phipatpong Sudthoop in second place, and Irvan Winarya from Indonesia in third. Thailand’s Nunnapat Phuchong and Chantika Chaisanuk are also in the top ranks.

Roy Rahmanto, the official in charge of the Asian League Paragliding Accuracy 2024 in Lombok, expressed optimism about Indonesia’s chances of securing the championship.

In the Under 26 category, Rizky Maulana from Indonesia once again holds the top position, followed by Phipatpong Sudthoop from Thailand, Zueesyam Ros from Malaysia, Tanakit Saemseemuang from Thailand, and Rira Nurhakim from Indonesia.

“Our under-26 athletes are also demonstrating excellent performance,” said Roy.

In the Female Paraglider category, two Thai athletes are leading the rankings, with Indonesia’s Rira Nurhakim in third place, followed by two athletes from China.

“So far, based on the current scores, the Indonesian paragliding team is performing remarkably. We hope this consistency continues until the end of the competition,” said Asgaf Umar, Chairman of the Paragliding Committee of the Indonesian Aero Sport Federation (FASI), on Monday, July 8, 2024.

Roy added that in the Team category, Thailand is leading, with Indonesia in second place and China in third.
