Beautiful Like Cappadocia, Turkey: Presenting SkyLancing in Central Lombok, Host of Two World Paragliding Events
IDNtribune.com – Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, boasts vistas that rival those of Cappadocia, Turkey. However, instead of hot air balloons, the main attractions are the gracefully soaring paragliders, hang gliders, and paramotors.
Imagine fifty paragliders taking to the skies simultaneously over a landscape framed by white sandy beaches, coral islands, and towering hills. Viewing this breathtaking scene from a sprawling hilltop would be an unforgettable experience.
Watching it during sunrise or sunset is a tempting travel offer. Now, there’s an additional thrill: full moon flights, where paragliders soar under the bright full moon.
One of the places showcasing this beauty is SkyLancing in Mekar Sari, Central Lombok, West Praya.
This is why the Asian League Paragliding Accuracy 2024, taking place from July 6-9, 2024, will be held at SkyLancing. Paragliding pilots will demonstrate their landing accuracy skills here.
Additionally, the Paragliding Accuracy World Cup (PGAWC) Series 4 will occur from July 11-14, 2024. This is the fourth of five series held in 2024.
The first series started in Thailand.
The second series continued at PGAWC Alanya, Turkey.
The third series was held in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan, on June 13, 2024.
“The final or fifth series will be in Germany,” said Asgaf Umar, Chairman of the Indonesian Paragliding Association, recently in Lombok.
For your information, NTB has been hosting the PGAWC since 2023. The 2023 PGAWC World Championship saw 99 participants from 20 countries register online.
However, since the number of participants is limited to 80, those who can join the event will be determined based on world rankings.
Both events, as Asgaf Umar explained, will be held at the SkyLancing site, which is well-suited and equipped for world-class events.
So, for those who still have vacation days, the events at SkyLancing should not be missed. ***
