Cicalengka, IDNtribune – Personnel from the 330 Tri Dharma Infantry Batallion were involved in aiding the evacuation of victims following a collision that happened between two trains. The Turangga train which headed from Surabaya’s Gubeng Station to Bandung collided with the Bandung Raya Commuterline at kilometer 181 + 700 of the road between Haurpugur Station and Cicalengka Station which caused 4 deaths, on Friday (5/1/24).

Head of the 330 Battalion Resident unit, Infantry First Lieutenant Yogi Prasetyo explained that on the Batallion Commander’s orders, 1 Evacuation Team from batallion quickly rushed to the location in order to assist the evacuation.

“Shortly after hearing about the incident, we were ordered by the commander to send a team to assist with the evacuation process,” said resident commander.

The Tri Dharma Knights swiftly assisted the process of evacuating victims to hospitals, providing first aid for victims of minor injuries and providing temporary transit facilities for victims in the field.

It is known, of the total 287 passengers on the Turangga train and 191 passengers on the Commuterline train, 4 were declared dead, and there were around 22 passengers who suffered minor injuries and were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

330/Tri Dharma Batallion Commander, Infantry Major Dedy Pungky Irawanto, S.I.P., M.I.Pol in another place emphasized that batallion’s involvement in assisting the evacuation process was in line with the vision of Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces General Agus Subiyanto, which is TNI PRIMA (Professional, Responsive, Integrative, Modern and Adaptive).

“This shows our purpose and existence as members of the Indonesian Armed Forces, who are always ready to help the people facing difficulties quickly,” he stressed.
