330 Task Force Celebrates World Tree Day by Conducting Forests Patrols and Replant Trees on Barren Land in Intan Jaya
Intan Jaya, IDNtribune – In commemoration of World Tree Day, the 330 Tri Dharma Infantery Batalyon Task Force carried out a patrol around forest grounds and replanted land subjected to deforestation in the Mboetuga mountain area, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua Province, on Tuesday (21/11/23).
Infantery Lieutenant Ivan Novanta, the person in charge, explained that he and his men had planted 100 fruit tree seedlings in a deforested area this year on world tree day. Planting fruit tree seedlings is an effort by the Task Force with a long-term target.
“In addition to the reforestation program, it is hoped that after the trees grow large and fertile, the fruit can be consumed by the community. There are two types of fruit trees were planted, Avocado and Matoa,” he said.
The plan, continued Ivan, is that reforestation and greening activities carried out by the Task Force will continue.
“Currently there are around 2000 hardwood Mahogany tree seedlings that are in the process of being seeded. When the time comes we will immediately move them to be planted in deforested areas,” he added.
Plant a tree today, reap its benefits in the future.
