To Express Gratitude, 330 Task Force joins Stone Burning Event by the Local Residents of the Holomama Village
Intan Jaya, IDNtribune – The tradition of burning stones is a symbol of brotherhood and a form of gratitude for the Papuan people. This tradition continues to be preserved by the locals til this day, as done by the Holomama Village Residents, who invited the 330 Task Force to join their burning stone ceremony in welcoming the Christmas celebration held on Saturday (23/12/23).
Commander of the Holomama Post, Infantery Captain Barcel Fainnaka, also as the person in charge, explained that the people of Holomama village invited the Task Force to attend the ceremony
“It was an honor to be invited to attend the stone burning event. On this occasion, we also provided basic food supplies in the form of rice, chicken, sugar and coffee to support the event,” he explained.
Furthermore, Infantery Captain Barcel added that the stone burning event was a means of strengthening the unity of the armed forces and the people. Hundreds of residents and personnel gathered and worked together, starting from preparing infrastructure to processing food.
Paulus Sani, the Pastor of the Holomama village church expressed his appreciation.
“Thank you for the food assistance for today’s event. All of us residents are happy, gentlemen from the Task Force attended today’s stone burning. Amakanie,” he said.
