Intan Jaya, IDNtribune.com – The 330/Tri Dharma Raider Infantery Batalyon Task Force successfully handled and put out the fire that was spreading throughout the forest in Mamba Village, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua Province (17/10/23).

Commander of the 330/TD Batalyon, Infantery Major Dedy Pungky Irawanto. S.I.P.,.M.I.Pol. explained that before the fire occurred, a group of people burning piles of rubbish was seen at the location of the fire.

Specialist Limbong, a member of the Mamba Post, was on guard duty when he first saw the smoke rising up high. He immediately reported this.

“I saw a group of residents screaming and running away from the fire location. The dry season and strong winds blowing caused the fire to quickly spread,” he explained.

To prevent the fire from spreading further, the commander ordered the Task Force personnel to immediately extinguish the fire.

“By not ignoring safety factors, I ordered Task Force personnel to go to the location and immediately extinguish the fire,” he said.

Upon arrival at the location, The personnel swiftly worked together to extinguish the fire so that it did not spread further. Apart from that, the commander also attempted to borrow a fire truck belonging to the Bilorai Airport and a water truck belonging to PT. TJP to help the extinguishing process to be more optimal.

Thank God, the fire was extinguished, and the quick response of Task Force succeeded in preventing the forest fire in Intan Jaya from spreading further.

“In the future, we will educate residents about the dangers of forest fires and how to prevent them,” the commander added. ***
