Intan Jaya, IDNtribune.com – Tri Dharma Knights had alot of ideas in mind to celebrate the 78th Indonesian Independence Day at Intan Jaya. In the midst of dangers and risks posed by the the Papuan Separatist Group to disrupt the Indonesian Independence Day celebration, it however did not stop the Tri Dharma Knights from lifting up yje spirit of independence in various corners of Intan Jaya. The Tri Dharma Knights carried out a “STUNTING PATROL” in remote villages in Intan Jaya, Central Papua Province, on Sunday (13/08/23).

Captain Barcel, Commander of the Holomama Post, as well as the coordinator of the event explained about the Stunting Patrol. The Tri Dharma Personnel visited residents in the villages to educate about children’s nutritional needs as well as provide basic food packages to residents. “We distribute basic food packages in order to meet the nutritional intake required by children,” he said.

The residents were shocked and did not expect the Tri Dharma Knights to come to their village. “Towards August 17, residents are afraid to leave their homes. I and all the residents were surprised that the 330 personnel arrived. Thank you for providing basic food and teaching us about nutrition for our children,” said Julius Sani, pastor of the Holomama church.

Major Dedy Pungky, as the mission commander explained that the 330 Task Force went directly to residents affected by stunting to provide basic food assistance. “Through this program, we hope to reduce the stunting rate. We also provide basic food assistance to meet the nutritional needs of residents as a preventive measure to reduce stunting rates,” he explained. ***
