Commander of the 330/TD Batalyon Communicates with Intan Jaya Regent to Discuss Preparations Done for the 78th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration.
Intan Jaya, IDNtribune.com – In Response to the increasing numbers of security disturbances done by the Papuan Separatist Terrorist Group (KSTP) within the last 2 weeks in Intan Jaya, Commander of the 330/Tri Dharma Raider Infantery Batalyon carried out Strategic Communication with the Regent of Intan Jaya to discuss the current security conditions and preparations to welcome the 78th Indonesian Independence Day. The meeting was held at the Regent’s Office in Sugapa, Intan Jaya, Central Papua Province, on Thursday (03/08/23).
On this occasion, Major Dedy Pungky, Commander of the 330/TD Batalyon suggested to the Regent of Intan Jaya, Mr. Apollos Bagau, ST., regarding the repairations done for the Trans Sugapa-Titigi road which was damaged by the terrorist forces (KSTP) “The road damaged by the KSTP is the main road used by the community on a daily basis. If it’s not repaired immediately, it will certainly have a direct effect on the activities and wheels of the economy of the Intan Jaya community,” said the commander.
Furthermore, the commander and the Regent discussed plans for activities that will be held to celebrate the 78th Indonesian Independence Day and the mechanism for distributing village funds. “Given the potential vulnerabilities that arise if the timing of the distribution of village funds is related to the lively activities of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day, it is suggested that the time be postponed after the August activities. It needs to be planned in detail regarding the distribution mechanism so that it can be distributed on target and effectively”, suggested the commander.
The Regent welcomed the arrival of the 330/TD Batalyon Commander and his Personnel. “Thank you, we will immediately follow up on the suggestions made by the commander. In principle, the government, assisted by security forces, will continue to collaborate to make Intan Jaya safe and prosperous,” said the Regent.
