Pekanbaru, IDNtribune.com – Two elite units, namely Bravo 90 – Rapid Action Force Command, Indonesia Air Force and the United States Marine Corps (US Marines) carried out a joint exercise, Close Quarter Battle (CQB) at the Pekanbaru City office complex, Sunday (18/6/2023).

Close Quarter Battle is a close combat exercise to master basic indoor moving and maneuvering techniques. CQB helps identify dangerous situations and how to communicate during close combat situations

The exercise was led by Major Novieary Jacky. This exercise teaches the most effective and efficient skills when faced with close combat. With maximum speed and the element of surprise, troops will be capable on dominating it’s opponent and therefore win during close combat

Detachment Commander stated that the two elite units also practiced Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) material. TCCC is a medical technique carried out by troops on the battlefield before receiving further treatment at a higher level (hospital).

TCCC aims to reduce the death toll on the battlefield due to delays in handling.

“Through the TCCC training, every soldier will be able to handle a wound (shot) at the midst of a battle. Apart from that, we gained further understanding on Advanced level medical devices used by the United States Special Forces Operators during combat, “said Major Novieary Jacky.

The Close Quarter Battle exercise is a series of joint Direct Action Ground Reconnaissance (DAGR) Military To Military Connection (M2MC) exercises between the US Marines and the Bravo Unit 90.

Apart from building relations between the elite units and gaining insight on the military culture between the two air forces, the joint exercise aims to enhance the cooperation and professionalism of the personnel within the two countries.

In addition to this joint exercise, the implementation of bilateral relations have been long well established between the armed forces of the two countries. In aims to maintain regional stability in the Asia Pacific region together. ***
