Bohai, How The Tri Dharma Warriors Turn Wheel of Economy in Intan Jaya
Intan Jaya, IDNtribune.com – The Market opens 2 times a week in the Intan Jaya Regency. Residents from various villages have to walk tens of kilometers to the market to sell their produce from their harvest. But this time there is a different scene. Residents who are going to sell their produce at the market, are directed to display their wares at the Preparatory Military Command Post, one of the 330/Tri Dharma Raider Infantery Task Force posts, on Tuesday (11/07/23).
Security conditions in Intan Jaya has not been stable, making residents unable to carry out their daily activities freely, as a result the economic sector is not running well. Personnel of the 330/Tri Dharma Raider Infantery Batalyob is trying to overcome this obstacle by holding an activity entitled BOHAI (BOrong HAsil bumi).
Tri Dharma warriors were seen buying up agricultural products brought by residents. First Lieutenant Arditto, as the Commander of the Post explained that the reason for choosing the Post as the site for the BOHAI program was because it was a route for residents to go to the market. “The road in front of the Koper Post is the main route that residents pass every market day, Tuesday and Friday,” said the Post Commander, who is fondly called Bang Ditto.
All the residents seemed happy to see their wares being bought up by the army personnel. “This is okay, I hope that every day at the market, Mr. Soldier, I have run out of goods to sell,” said Mace-mace smiling as he put a bunch of spinach leaves in a plastic bag.
In his official statement, Major Dedy Pungky, as the mission commander, said that the idea for the BOHAI program arose because he saw economic growth in the Intan Jaya region as suspended animation. “The BOrong Hasil Bumi (BOHAI) is an effort by the 330 raider infantery Task Force to help move the wheels of the economy of the people of Intan Jaya,” he emphasized. ***
