Intan Jaya, IDNtribune – The acts of terror done by the Papuan Separatists (KSTP) had gone on for five consecutive days since Friday (19/1). They had caused a lot of losses and put various aspects of community life in the district to a halt.

330 Task Force Commander, locally referred to as “Sonobi Sejuria”, Infantry Major Dedy Pungky Irawanto, S.I.P., M.I.Pol, explained that the 330 Tri Dharma Task Force together with other law enforcement units will continue to work together in restoring security in Intan Jaya so that both the government and economic activity can continue to run normally.

“We will hold coordinated meetings with all related elements, including elements of the government, both from the military and police, religious leaders, cultural leaders and community leaders to speed up the process the restoring security conditions and handling of refugees in Intan Jaya,” he explained.

After taking action against the disturbances caused by the seperatists which last until Tuesday (23/1), the Tri Dharma personnel had succeeded in taking down a total of 5 seperatists, 4 of whom were declared dead.

Infantry First Lieutenant Abu Haniffah, as the Task Force Public Relations Officer, explained that 4 of the seperatists were killed and one had a gunshot wound after the 330 Task Force fought back against the attack carried out by seperatists

“The four of the seperatists who died were Zakius Sondegau (Yokatapa Region Commander), Oni Kobogau (Vice Commander of the VIII/Kemabu Regional Command), Grid Belau and Melkias Matani. Meanwhile, 1 seperatist by the name of Kanus Kogoya or Ones was confirmed to have suffered a gunshot wound and is currently receiving treated at one of the seperatist headquarters,” he explained.

Furthermore, Infantry First Lieutenant Abu added that when seperatists carried out an attack, the Task Force aided in evacuating residents to a safe place.

“Many Intan Jaya residents fled and took shelter at the 330 Post as they are afraid of seperatists. The 330 Task Force is currently trying to provide healthcare and food to residents living in the refugee camps,” he added.
