Cooking Guerilla, Tri Dharma Knights Educates Residents of Intan Jaya on How to Cook Healthy and Nutritious Food
Intan Jaya, IDNtribune.com – As a form of healthcare for the residents of Intan Jaya, personnel of the 330/Tri Dharma Raider Infantery Batalyon Task Force are going door to door, entering the residents’ kitchens in Sugapa, Intan Jaya, Central Papua Province, on Thursday (10/08/23).
The Tri Dharma Kitchen Guerrilla Program was initiated by “Sonobi Sejuria”, the nickname given by the residents of Intan Jaya to Major Dedy Pungky as Commander of the 330/Tri Dharma Batalyon. This aims to educate residents about a better and nutritious diet. “Residents are taught how to process local food sources into more varied, healthy and nutritious food,” he said.
The Commander said that this program was effective in socializing the importance of providing animal protein to children, such as eggs, chicken meat, fish and milk, as well as checking the condition of community kitchens to see the availability of sources of animal protein in residents’ homes. If a family is found to have no eggs, the personnel will distribute them as a form of stunting prevention at the family level. “The Tri Dharma soldiers not only provide education, but also cook in the residents’ kitchens. This is an effective step in accelerating the reduction in stunting rates,” he explained.
“Thank you uncle from 330, who gave the eggs and taught me how to cook good and nutritious food,” said Mama Amina. ***
