IDNtribune.com – The skies over SkyLancing, Central Lombok are set to dazzle with the arrival of two major international paragliding events. This also provides an excellent opportunity for Indonesian paragliding pilots to learn from the best in the world.

Asgaf Umar, the Chairman of Paragliding Indonesia for the 2022-2026 term, announced that the Asian League Paragliding Accuracy 2024 will be held from July 6 to 9, 2024. This competition is open to participants from across the Asian region.

“Registration is already open, and there are still a few days left before the event,” he said enthusiastically.

The Asian Paragliding League is an annual event organized by the Airsport Federation of Asia (AFA).

Asgaf also mentioned that the event will be held at the Skylancing Paragliding Site in Mekar Sari Village, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

Following this event, from July 11 to 14, 2024, the same location will host the fourth series of the Paragliding Accuracy World Cup (PGAWC).

The first series took place in Thailand, followed by the second series in Alanya, Turkey, and the third series in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan, on June 13, 2024.

“The fourth series will be held at SkyLancing, Central Lombok. The final and fifth series will take place in Germany,” he added.

West Nusa Tenggara has had the honor of hosting the PGAWC since 2023. During the 2023 PGAWC World Championship, 99 participants from 20 countries registered online. However, due to quota limitations, only the top 80 participants with the best world rankings were accepted.

“We hope to see more participants from Indonesia this time, considering the host country has certain quota advantages,” he concluded hopefully.
